The Subway Young Socceroos have finished atop Group A at the AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2025™ after defeating tournament hosts, China PR 2-1 last night.
The result makes it three consecutive wins for Australia, following victories over Kyrgyz Republic (5-1) and Qatar (3-1).
Trevor Morgan made nine changes to the XI that defeated Qatar and his side started strongly in what was a physical encounter in front of a partisan home crowd.
The Subway Young Socceroos quickly jumped to a 2-0 lead at the 25-minute mark, courtesy of Medin Memeti and Louis Agosti who scored inside 90-seconds of each other.
Australia will now face the second-place finisher from Group B in their Quarter Final at Baoan Sports Centre Stadium, Shenzhen on Saturday, 22 February.
