SNL Creator Told Taylor Swift He Doesn’t “Negotiate With Terrorists” After She Asked For Skit To Be Cut

Lorne Michaels has revealed that when Taylor Swift requested he cut an SNL sketch about her infamous girl squad, he responded by telling the pop star he doesn’t “negotiate with terrorists”.

A recently released Vulture report claims that Michaels had called Swift with hopes of her making a cameo in the 2015 skit that spoofed her Bad Blood music video.

Swift not only turned down the cameo appearance but also requested that Michaels kill the sketch altogether, to which Michaels responded, “Taylor, I do not negotiate with terrorists”.

The sketch in question, called ‘Tina & Amy’s Dope Squad’, went ahead with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler parodying Swift’s Bad Blood music video.

While Swift’s original squad featured A-list celebrities and supermodels like Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevigne, and Zendaya, Tiny and Amy had their own girl gang made up of Amy Schumer, Gayle King and Robert Downey Jr.

Swift was obviously able to shake it off, reportedly sending Michaels a bouquet of flowers after the skit went to air with a card that read: “I hope there’s no bad blood.”

The 35-year-old megastar has gone on to appear on Saturday Night Live three times as a musical guest.

The story comes amid Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
