The video in question saw Strable snatch a baby wombat from the the side of a road as its distressed mother watches on, sparking public outrage when it was posted to social media.
Ms Strable then holds the baby wombat up to the screen as the baby wombat squirms and screeches.
“I caught a baby wombat,” she says.
“OK, Mamma is right there, and she is pi**ed,” Ms Strable says before returning the baby to the side of the road.
Immigration minister Tony Burke said authorities were checking whether she had breached the conditions of her visa.
On Thursday, Burke said he couldn’t “wait to see the back of this individual.”
That review was still ongoing when Jones made the decision herself to leave the country.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said Jones’s actions were “an outrage” and suggested she should try to “take a baby crocodile from its mother and see how you go there”.
