Statement From The NSW Government Regarding Psychiatrist Walk-Out

Statement from NSW Government spokesperson:

The NSW Government today met with representatives of the Australian Salaried Medical Officers Federation [ASMOF] and the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists [RANZCP].

The NSW Government has invited both parties to return to the table and continue this discussion on Monday, January 20th 2025.

The Government reiterated its position that it is not possible to negotiate with former employees, it is vital that psychiatrists not resign and stay at the table to work with the government on a path forward.

On Tuesday, January 21st ASMOF and the NSW Government will return to the Industrial Relations Commission following a directive by the IRC issued this morning.
