In 2005, prosecutors alleged Charles Kushner hired a sex worker to seduce and intimidate a family member who was working with authorities to investigate his financial crimes.
He was pardoned for those by Trump, waving away the federal conviction in 2020.
Posting to his social media site Truth Social, Trump wrote that Mr Kushner is “a tremendous business leader, philanthropist, & dealmaker, who will be a strong advocate representing our Country & its interests”.
He continued, “Together, we will strengthen America’s partnership with France, our oldest Ally, & one of our greatest!”
On Saturday, Trump also announced that former aide, Kash Patel, will lead the Federal Bureau of Investigation, an agency Patel has publicly criticised.
Additionally, Chad Chronister, sheriff of Florida’s Hillsborough County, has been nominated as head of the Drug Enforcement Agency.
