Miley Cyrus Says She’s “Proud” Of Her Life In Candid Conversation With Pamela Anderson

In a candid conversation with Pamela Anderson, Miley Cyrus opened up about her past and revealed that she’s “proud of every stage of [her] life.”

Miley Cyrus and Pamela Anderson recently sat down to discuss Anderson’s latest role in Gia Coppola’s The Last Showgirl.

Cyrus recorded the original ballad “Beautiful That Way” for the film and admitted that she always wanted to be just like the film’s star.

“Ever since I was little, it was only Pam when people would ask me what I wanted to be when I grow up, I would say you. And the whole thing. The tattoos, the hair, all of it. That’s all I wanted to do. I wanted to be a showgirl!” Cyrus said.

Cyrus then went on to reflect on her own life and the many twists and turns it’s taken since she rose to fame at just 13 years old on the Disney hit show Hannah Montana.

“I’ve had so many pivots and evolutions and — some might say ‘detours’ — within my path,” she said.

“But it always ends up coming back around to make the next stage of what we are — something that’s more potent, something that’s more real,” Cyrus continued.

“Funnily enough when I look back, all the mistakes, anything I was unsure of or I didn’t understand, I am so proud of every moment and now every stage of my life.

“I would not go back and change anything,” Cyrus added before amending: “Except [for] a couple of things I was wearing.”

Anderson understands the temptation to abandon the previous version of herself, admitting to Cyrus that she had previously told directors she wanted to “let everything go” from her past until she realised the power of bringing her younger self into her performances.

“I’m not ashamed of my life,” Anderson said. “I don’t need to let anything go.”

The 57-year-old also addressed the online chatter that The Last Showgirl was “snubbed” from the 2025 Oscar nominations.

“Oh my gosh, it’s not something I ever expected,” Anderson said.

In a previous conversation with Elle, she had explained that she believes “doing the work is the win,”

“That’s what I like to do, and I think we can lose sight of that sometimes in this whole crazy awards season, but it’s so nice to be recognised, and it’s all a bonus.”
