So, what if the Palestinian people refuse to move? President Donald Trump has refused to rule out sending in US troops.
The resettlement, which has long been a goal of Israel’s far right, has been endorsed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
As protestors gathered outside the White House, the world reacted in shock.
Palestinians, Hamas, and the wider Arab world are all rejecting Trump’s plans.
Palestinian journalist Abubaker Abed is in Gaza and told The Project that “it is heartbreaking”.
“For me personally, when I listened to what he was saying, I was thinking about how on earth could someone really decide my future,” he said.
“I've stayed here. I survived 14 months of war, 14 months of absolute horror, and I didn't lose hope, and now Trump wants to take me out and claim the land from people. That's beyond comprehension.”
Abed said that the Palestinian people are “simply the most traumatised people on the planet.”
“I don't feel human at all. I don't feel human at all. People are here just trapped in a bubble of terror. A bubble of suffering and pain that is endless.”
When asked if he would want to live elsewhere, Abed explained that he had the chance to leave during the war but chose not to.
“I did not because I'm connected with this land. I can't leave it. My heart is planted here. Either I will die here under the rubble of my home or under the rubble of my homeland.”
Abed described what Trump is suggesting as “disheartening” and “depressing”.
“It is unbelievable that we are going to be ethnically cleansed from Gaza.”
