The money will help fund a new habitat for the yellow-bellied slider turtle Francis, who was rescued from an animal hoarding situation.
"Francis came to us very ill with shell rot. He had been kept in a tiny tank with no basking light and almost no room to move around. His current situation is an upgrade for sure, but he does need a bigger tank. We hope to raise funds from this fun Valentine's Day event for his upkeep," Rebecca Minnick, the centre's executive director explained.
Francis' dinner doesn't exclusively have to be an ex-lover, either.
You can name a roach after an annoying colleague, boss, or celebrity who just grinds your gears the wrong way. The options are endless.
LNC staff will even send you a video of Francis eating the roach and a certificate acknowledging the event.
