Elon Musk Has Said That Being "Forever Confined To Earth… Would Not Be A Good Future"

Appearing on the Joe Rogan podcast, the SpaceX CEO stated that "it's a matter of time before we get hit by an asteroid, or maybe we do annihilate ourselves with nuclear war or super-volcanoes."

Musk has had the goal of reaching Mars for over twenty years and directs SpaceX to be continuously working towards this target.

He then confidently states, "we'll be a multi-planet species."

"A future where we are a space-faring civilisation and out there among the stars, I think, that's very exciting."

"If we knew we would not be a space-faring civilisation but forever confined to Earth, this would not be a good future. That would be very sad, I think."

So yes, it appears clear that we must become a "space-faring civilisation" or else risk hurting Musk's feelings.

Elon Musk continued to identify his appreciation for people, which reportedly drives his passion for interplanetary travel.

"I'm pro-human. I love humanity. I think it's great."

Despite this, it has been reported that there were at least 600 previously unreported workplace injuries at SpaceX as of 2023.

Reuters reports that this comes as employees work to "colonise space at a breakneck speed.
