Catch up with all the action from the Socceroos' October Qualifiers on 10 Play

Tony Popovic made his debut in the Socceroos dugout as they came up against China in Adelaide on Thursday night.

The new man in charge is responsible with turning around the Socceroos' fortunes who came into the clash with the solitary point to their name after their first two World Cup Qualifiers.

Following on from that clash in Adelaide, Popovic's men travelled to Saitama for one of the most challenging matches.

The Blue Samurai have had an absolutely lethal start to the latest set of qualifiers, putting seven unanswered goals past China before knocking off Bahrain 5-0.

The Socceroos' record against their hosts also did not make for pretty reading with their last win arriving all the way back in 2009.

With the odds stacked against them, see how the Green and Gold performed in front over 60,000 supporters in Saitama.

Coming Up: Socceroos face Saudi Arabia & Bahrain

It won't be long until the Socceroos will be in action once again as they head to Melbourne to meet Saudi Arabia on Thursday, 14 November.

Popovic oversaw an upturn in form across their October Qualifiers which saw them come out on top against China before sharing the points with top of the table Japan in Saitama.

Those much needed points coupled with favourable results elsewhere will see them enter November's Qualifiers in second place just ahead of Saudi Arabia thanks to their superior goal difference.

The Green and Gold last came up against the Arabian Falcons at this same stage of qualification for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

That meeting in Jeddah ended 1-0 in favour of the hosts while the first match in Sydney in November 2021 ended in a goalless stalemate.

The Socceroos will be out for revenge when they visit Bahrain in November

The Socceroos will then prepare for what will be their final match of the year as they make the trip to Bahrain six days later, on the hunt to make amends for their defeat in the reverse fixture on the Gold Coast.

They opened their Third Round Qualifiers in the worst way possible as Bahrain secured a surprise 1-0 win that sent shockwaves throughout the football world.
