Police Ask Owner Of Drug Stash Found During Hurricane Helene Cleanup To Retrieve Their Goods

A Sheriff’s department in Georgia has found a large stash of drugs during a Hurricane Helene cleanup and would like to return the goods to their rightful owner.

While clearing off Highway 231 near Washington State Prison in Davisboro, Georgia, officers found a large array of drugs which they posted to their Facebook page under the title “Lost and Found property.”

“While in Davisboro last week during storm response, deputies located these items in a clearing off Highway 231 near Washington State Prison,” the Washington County Sheriff’s Office wrote.

“If you would like to claim ownership of these packages, please come see us at 733 Kaolin Road, Sandersville, Georgia,” the post read.

The haul included numerous large bags of marijuana, commercially packaged THC-infused gummies and several bottles of prescription medication.

Facebook users were amused by this post and wondered whether anyone would be stepping forward to claim their illegal goods.

“Nothing smells trap like this post”, one user wrote.

“Was wondering where it was. Can I send my rep to pick it up?” another joked.

One asked, “Will I get into trouble if I come to get my stuff? Asking for a friend”.

“Price for everything on table including shipping?” a fourth quipped.
