Man Awarded Compensation After Unwrapping Smooth Mars Bar

A British man who unwrapped a Mars bar to find it was completely smooth has been awarded £2 ($3.91) compensation.

Harry Seager caused a stir online when he shared an image of the Mars bar without its signature ripple.

Seager, 34, shared the picture on the Dull Men's Club Facebook page, where thousands of people reacted, with one even labelling the bar 'hideous'.

Seager told the BBC that he planned to use the compensation money to purchase more Mars bars.

"I think £2 is great, it will be two free Mars bars. Maybe they could have sent me more, but I'm not being ungrateful. I think it's amazing, after everything that's happened, that I got the £2 voucher."

A spokesperson from Mars Wrigley UK said the bar had "slipped" through its production line and confirmed the swirl would remain.
