Now, the internet sensation has officially found his forever home. Lufy had been homed at Sahara Kennel Rescue, an animal rescue in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
According to the kennel, the adorable Bichon Frise was a normal, happy puppy, but began to stumble at around four months old.
His condition rapidly progressed, and within a few months, he was partially paralyzed. Along with his mobility issues, Lufy developed a constant snorting sound when he breathed due to a shortened muzzle.
Despite his challenges, Sahara Kennel Rescue knew that his loving personality and teddy-bear face could win the hearts of anyone, and as it turns out, everyone.
Lufy posed in an iconic photoshoot for his ad listing, and when it hit Instagram on March 14, it quickly became a viral sensation, racking up 853K likes and thousands of comments from adoring fans.
"I would commit multiple war crimes and besiege entire cities to earn Lufy’s affection,” one commenter wrote.
"I’d donate my leg so Lufy could walk,” another wrote.
A third commented, "Not a thought behind those eyes and yet… I’d trust him to do my taxes."
In an update that we all hoped for, yesterday, Sahara Kennel Rescue announced that Lufy has officially been adopted.
“A new beginning, a new life. Lufy has finally found his fur-ever home,” they wrote. Naturally, another iconic photoshoot dropped.
