Australia, along with the rest of the world, was today slapped with a 25 per cent tariff on steel and aluminium exports to the U.S, with Donald Trump rejecting our plea for an exemption.
The White House has said he did consider a carve-out, as promised, but decided against it.
But our leaders still aren't impressed.
The opposition has claimed that the PM didn't do enough to secure the same exemption Malcolm Turnbull managed last time round. But the government maintains the battle is far from over.
As questions now turn to how Australia will respond, the government has ruled out the tit-for-tat tariff retaliation dished out by countries like China and Canada.
So what's Australia's next move? And is our relationship with the US now on the rocks?
