Fellow TikToker Adele Maree is in the same, Malteser-less boat, taking to TikTok to share a “very, very sad PSA”. “Anyone who has messaged me saying they have found the Malteser Bunny we have very quickly realised that they’re actually the KitKat ones,” Maree said.
“For some reason they look identical.” A spokesperson for Mars Wrigley confirmed to news.com.au that Malteser Bunnies are no longer available in Australia. Sigh.
“Maltesers Bunny was previously imported from Europe and like many Australian businesses importing products from overseas, we are experiencing rising cost-pressures and supply challenges,” they said.
“Last year, we made the difficult decision to discontinue availability of Maltesers Bunny in Australia.
“However, we know Maltesers Bunny is a much-loved Easter treat and therefore we are currently reviewing options to potentially reintroduce in the future.” Sorry to be the ones to ruin your Easter.
