Speaking with Channel Seven's Erin Phillips, Higgins was asked what he had planned for the week away.
'No, I don't like Adelaide, so I'll probably be in my room playing Call of Duty with the boys,' Phillips joked.
Adelaide's Premier Peter Malinauskas wasn't having a bar of that comment, insisting that Higgins should get out of his room and "see a few things".
"There used to be a time when we would get defensive and uppity about these sorts of comments but I think we've moved beyond that," Mr Malinauskas said.
