‘Not My King’: Senator Lidia Thorpe Heckles Royals After King’s Speech

On day two of The Royal Tour, King Charles and Queen Camilla hit the road, or rather the jet, for a visit to our capital.

The pair had a whopping 17 engagements on their agenda.

First up, there was a visit to the Australian War Memorial, where many adoring royalists and one alpaca were delighted to receive them before the monarchs headed inside for a wreath-laying ceremony.

Next on the Royal schedule, it was straight to parliament for a meet-up with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

The fanfare was interrupted by Senator Lidia Thorpe, who was forcibly removed from the reception after protesting.

The Independent Senator yelled, “You are not our king, you are not sovereign”, and “Give us our land back, give us what you stole from our people” following the King’s speech.

The King and Queen then rounded out the day by reuniting at the Royal Botanic Gardens to take a tour, discuss climate change, and plant a tree.

All in a day’s work for His and Her Majesties.
