The Red Devils, currently placed 6th on the Premier League table, will take on A-League team Melbourne Victory in a Friday night blockbuster before following it up with a friendly against Premier League team Crystal Palace who currently sit a respectable 12th on the Premier League standings.
While Manchester United will be hoping for W's in both matches the real victory will be if they can break the attendance record for a football match at the venue which is currently held by cross town rivals Manchester City when 99 382 people watched them lose 4-1 when they took on the might of global superstars Real Madrid in 2015.
While it is still too early to know full team lists fans will be hoping for a chance to see Manchester United superstars Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Pogba and Harry Maguire take to the field.
(And while Harry Maguire may not be the household name like Ronaldo, this writer is looking forward to hearing 99,000 people chant
"Harry Maguire
He f*cked off Leicester,
For Manchester,
His head's f*cking massive!
(Repeat)"
which will be a nice change at the MCG from Carlton fans just shouting "Blue Baggers" after their best start in more than a decade)
Oh, and for any restaurants hoping to host the team while they are here, make sure you have only the finest of water available as Cristiano Ronaldo will make it known he won't be drinking Coca-Cola
This will be Manchester United's first game at the MCG since 1999 when they defeated the Socceroo's 2-0.
