Gael Monfils Becomes Aus Open Crowd Favourite Thanks To Celebratory Dance Moves

Frenchman Gael Monfils has become a crowd favourite thanks to his iconic celebratory dance moves after his win against Taylor Fritz in the third round of the Aus Open.

After a match that clocked in three hours and eight minutes, Monfils fired a 215 kmph serve down the middle on match point, beating World No.4 Fritz in 6-3, 5-7,6-7(1) ,4-6 sets.

The 38-year-old, the second-oldest man to reach the Aus Open fourth found since 1988, busted a move to celebrate the historic win.

“I felt good, I felt that I want to do that (dance) in that moment, be myself,” Monfils said.

“It was my way to express my joy.”
