In an interview with GQ, the former WWE star confessed to urinating in bottles while on the set of his new Christmas movie, Red One, to not delay production.
An article published in The Wrap alleged that the actor was so chronically late to set that he cost the production $250 million to push back the film’s release.
“I pee in a bottle [while working],” he told GQ. “Yeah, that happens.”
When asked about his tardiness, the 52-year-old actor said: “Yeah, that happens, too. But not that amount, by the way. That was a banana amount. That’s crazy. Ridiculous.”
‘Red One’ director Jake Kasdan also shut down the allegation, telling GQ that Johnson “never missed a day of work ever. He has a lot going on. He can be late sometimes, but such is Hollywood — that’s the case with everybody.”
Kasdan added that he’s made “three big movies with” Johnson and has “never seen him be anything but great to every single person on the set.”
Chris Evans was also quick to shut down the rumours.
“In terms of the guy that I saw, compared to some of the things I’ve seen on other movies with other actors who are not only not conscious of other people’s time and efforts, but they’re unpredictable? I found Dwayne to be — we all know exactly what he’s going to do when he’s going to do it,” Evans said.
“It’s not like he’s late unexpectedly, and I wouldn’t even call it late. He comes in slightly later on certain mornings, but it’s part of the plan,” Evans said.
“It’s worked into the schedules, and everyone knows it, so he shows up when he’s scheduled to show up.”
