A spokesperson from Trump's transition confirmed to Axios the 2005 American Idol winner would be performing at the inauguration.
"I love our country and am honoured to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event," Underwood said in a statement to The Associated Press.
"I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future."
Trump's presidential inauguration events are set to take place on January 20 and will also feature performances by the Village People and Lee Greenwood.
Underwood's performance marks a shift in sentiment from high profile performers, who largely avoided showing public support for Trump during his first term.
Donald Trump's 2017 inauguration included performances from America's Got Talent runner-up Jackie Evancho, Toby Keith and 3 Doors Down.
