Aussie Arrested In Global Illegal App Sting

The AFP have arrested the alleged criminal mastermind from Sydney, who they allege to be behind the encrypted platform 'Ghost’, which is allegedly used by hundreds of criminals worldwide to arrange drug deals and killings.

The man allegedly behind the platform, 32-year-old Jay Je Yoon Jung Joong, also known as The Administrator, was arrested in an early morning raid.

Europol, the E-U’s law enforcement arm, discovered Ghost in 2022 and alerted Australian authorities.

In March, the Australian Federal Police hacked the system and began monitoring communications.

Among more than 125,000 messages caught by police, everything from crimes in progress and flashy, incriminating displays of wealth to selfies and… well, nude pics.

The AFP says it disrupted 50 threats to life, including extortion and kidnapping.

Today, weapons, money and drugs have been seized, 38 have been arrested, and a global communications network has been disabled.
