Sun has four siblings and was born in Tasmania, Australia. Originally employed as a credit analyst, Sun's longstanding passion for food saw her enter MasterChef Australia season 3 with the goal of curating a new path in the food industry.

"I was raised as a vegetarian, so that clearly influenced what I could eat and what I could cook. Over the last couple of years I've started to eat meat. I'm at a point in my life where I'm really ready to leave the corporate world behind. I just want to see what's out there for me and I think MasterChef is going to show me.”

Her most popular dishes was the Spiced Apple and Rhubarb Pudding with Apple Juice Mascarpone and Butterscotch Sauce and her Porterhouse Steak with Bernaise Sauce and Duck Fat Potatoes.
