If good things come in threes, then Sarah Todd hopes that her third time in the MasterChef Australia kitchen will bring the victory she craves. Finishing in ninth place in season six and runner up in season 14, Sarah has gone on to create a lauded culinary career as an international chef, restaurateur, author, TV host and business owner.
Her extensive list of accomplishments includes having launched two restaurants in India, one in Goa in 2015, then another in Mumbai in 2018, while a television series linked to each aired in over 150 countries. Author of two cookbooks, Sarah’s second book published in 2021 is titled My Indian Kitchen and showcases Indian-inspired recipes that are quick and simple to create.
Having worked with myriad high-end brands to share her culinary wisdom, Sarah has amassed over a million social media followers. She saw her immense influence in India reach a pinnacle when in 2023, the country’s Prime Minister recognised her for her extraordinary contributions to the food industry. That same year, Sarah launched her own sauce brand Hot Toddy, which has quickly made its mark in the gourmet food sector.
Her Le Cordon Bleu training combined with her deft understanding of Indian flavours mean that Sarah’s creations are as unique as they are unforgettable. She seems able to shapeshift her skill to meet any challenge she is faced with in the MasterChef Australia kitchen.
An advocate for health, wellness and sustainable living, Sarah says she is returning to the competition to show her son Phoenix, now 14, that it’s always worth going for your dreams, and putting yourself out there.
Sarah is still chasing her dreams of securing a Michelin star, and would love to open her very own restaurant in Australia.
Able to call on a steely composure earnt from years of experience, look for Sarah to absorb the pressure when the temperature rises in the Back To Win kitchen, her focus firmly set on finally lifting the coveted trophy.
