Though pipped at the post by just one point in MasterChef Australia’s season 13 finale, Pete Campbell dove straight into the heat of the kitchen and joined Peter Gilmore at Sydney’s Quay restaurant.
Since 2022 Pete has been on the pans at Surry Hills hotspot, Poly, the place he credits with his understanding of truly good cooking. Pete has also made time to collaborate with the likes of Calzone Zone, and a sold out “donuts with friends” at New York’s Wildair.
Pete’s thirst for knowledge, and desire to continually challenge himself, has drawn him back to the MasterChef Australia kitchen, returning to unlock all-new levels of cooking.
Quiet and unassuming, Pete’s intuitive palate and ability to adapt will help him remain calm as the pressure amps up.
The former tattoo artist looks up to chefs Mat Lindsay, Nathan Brindle and Jeff Lusis and returns to the MasterChef Australia competition ready to take more risks and showcase everything he’s learnt since leaving.
With years of insight into the Australian food landscape, Pete continues his momentum towards one day opening his own venue, where food, wine and atmosphere would combine for an unforgettable experience.
Supported by wife Alana and daughters Scout, 12, and Lux, 9, Pete is Back To Win.
