To say cooking is in Phenix’s blood would be an understatement. Her dad is a trained chef and her mum owns a Vietnamese café. Her grandparents are also chefs and cooks here in Australia, and many of her aunties and uncles in Vietnam own bakeries and restaurants. Make no mistake, Phenix absolutely plans to follow in her family’s footsteps.Phenix, 11, dreams of being the head chef of her own café, and thinks Junior MasterChef is a pretty great place to begin.

Most excited to see what’s on the shelves in the giant MasterChef pantry, Phenix says her biggest inspiration in the kitchen is her grandma, who Phenix says makes the best Vietnamese food. While Phenix singles out chicken wings as her all-time favourite thing to eat, she loves eating all types of Asian food, in particular, Vietnamese, Japanese, and Chinese food.

Big sister to brother Jordan, 10, and the proud owner of a pet turtle, Phenix has a host of hobbies alongside cooking, spending her time dancing, doing arts and craft, singing and playing basketball.
