Turns Out Toothbrush Bristles Are Actually Different Colours For A Reason

When choosing a toothbrush, we often choose the colour we like most, but it turns out there's a reason for different coloured bristles!

According to TikTok user Jess, who posts under @jmac8781, there is a reason for the different coloured bristles that will help keep our teeth clean.

The different colours show exactly how much toothpaste you should be using.

"The smallest of the colours, usually near the top, is to show you how much toothpaste you actually should be using," Jess explains in the video.

"You're actually not supposed to put the toothpaste all along with the brush."

Apparently, we're only supposed to use about a "pea-sized" amount of toothpaste for each time we brush.

Jess uses a toothbrush as an example of how much toothpaste should be used according to the toothbrush bristle colours.

She also used a toddler toothbrush to show the amount varies depending on age.

"Here's a toddler toothbrush and you can see the blue in the middle shows you exactly how much toothpaste to measure out," she says.
