The 60-year-old made the surprising revelation while attending the PEN America Literary Gala last week, where she spoke to Page Six about her current reading habits.
For context, Parker is serving as a judge for the prestigious Booker Prize, which honors “the best sustained work of fiction written in English” each year. And with that role comes a serious reading load.
“I’m reading two books a day,” Parker shared. “It’s intense.”
She went on to describe just how demanding the task has been.
“The volume is kind of hard to convey—what it’s like to have as many books as we are given the opportunity to read in a month. It’s quite something.”
Whether or not everyone believes her, one thing’s clear: SJP is deep in her literary era.
