Trump Slams Presidential Portrait & Asks For It To Be Removed

U.S. President Donald Trump has slammed a portrait of himself hanging in Colorado’s State Capitol, claiming it to be “purposefully distorted” and demanding the state’s Governor to take it down immediately.

Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to slam the portrait.

“Nobody likes a bad picture or painting of themselves, but the one in Colorado, in the State Capitol, put up by the Governor, along with all the other Presidents, was purposefully distorted to a level that even I, perhaps, have never seen before,” he wrote.

“The artist also did President Obama, and he looks wonderful, but the one on me is truly the worst. She must have lost her talent as she got older.”

The interesting portrait comes as Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, who called for a snap election just days after being appointed to the role.

The former central banker, preceding Justin Trudeau, won the leadership after convincing party members he was the best person to take on Trump.

Recently, Trump has been floating the idea of annexing Canada.

The escalating tensions between the U.S. and Canada will be at the centre of the election contest.

Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre had been leading in the polls. However, the Liberals have regained ground.

Carney, who is the leader of the Liberal Party, which is considered centre-left, has repeatedly labelled Trump’s tariffs as “unjustified” and has vowed to take up the fight against Trump.

"[Mr Trump] wants to break us so America can own us. We will not let this happen," he said.

"We are facing the most significant crisis of our lifetimes because of President Trump's unjustified trade actions and his threats to our sovereignty."
