The ad begins with oddball Kirk (played by Sean Gunn) dashing through the snow to drop off a Walmart box at Luke's Diner, passing the Stars Hollow sign.
Luke and Kirk exchange their famously blunt greetings - "Luke." "Kirk."
Lorelai bursts through the doors of Luke's Diner, bringing the holiday cheer that only she can. "Coffee, coffee, coffee, please," she demands - the same first phrase that began the show in 2000.
Luke responds by telling her it's "coming right up" before opening the box to reveal a Keurig coffee maker, joking that Lorelai's "drinking [him] out of business."
The pair walk out into the town square and stand side by side, wistfully looking up at the falling snow.
Lauren Graham and Scott Patterson had teased their reunion on social media less than a week before the ad came out.
Graham had shared a photo of a snowy Stars Hollow street, captioning it: 'I've got something brewing'.
Ahead of the Walmart ad's release, Graham had said it was "always a little surreal" returning to Stars Hollow.
"It was a particularly odd day for me because there's just so much familiarity with that character and seeing Scott and being in that place," Graham said.
As for Patterson, he said the highlight of doing the ad was getting to work alongside Graham again, whom he called his "favorite scene partner of [his] entire career."
"I've never worked with anybody with a better skill set, more grit and just this incredible stamina among the other things that she brings with her humor and her kindness," he said about Graham.
"It was just wonderful to see her and work with her again and Sean as well," he said. "I'll always cherish the time I got to spend with Lauren and act with her because she's literally an icon. And that is just growing as the years go by."
