The food delivery giant first announced the initiative — dubbed the Snagifesto — on Instagram, describing it as "a meaty platform for delivering snags to the snagless this election day."
To drive the message home, Uber Eats enlisted Huey for a new campaign. In a video posted yesterday, the 76-year-old chef declared: "On election day, Australians rightly expect a sausage in bread for doing their civic duty. But the reality is, many find themselves snagless. This was never meant to be the land of the have-snags and the have-nots. If you find yourself snagless this election day, order your Democracy Sausage on the Uber Eats app."
Uber Eats has promised all the essentials: optional onions, plus a "three-sauce guarantee" — BBQ, tomato, and mustard.
The service will be available in selected areas across Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, with limited quantities on offer.
Best of all, all proceeds from The Democracy Sausage Store will go directly to the Australian Red Cross.
