Brothers Attempt To Sail From Peru To Australia

Three Scottish brothers are about to set off on a gruelling expedition, rowing 14 thousand kilometres across the Pacific Ocean.

They’re taking on the Rare Whisky 101 Pacific Row, starting from Lima in Peru, Jamie, Lachlan and Euan Maclean plan to row non-stop, and unsupported, in a bid to break the record for the fastest human-powered crossing.

The brothers have custom-built a $100,000 vessel using carbon fibre technology, similar to that of a Formula 1 car.

The brothers were farewelled at Edinburgh Airport by their mascot, Paddington bear.

They want to reach Sydney in just four months, while also raising 2-million dollars for clean drinking water projects in south-east Madagascar.
