Beloved Free Commuter Newspaper mX Back For A Special One-Off Edition

The free commuter newspaper mX is being brought back for a special Black Friday edition, so commuters can flick through deals while travelling to their destination.

Myer and News Corp have teamed up to bring back a special edition of the much-loved afternoon newspaper.

The 32-page special will be produced by News Corp’s content marketing agency Suddenly, and will feature Black Friday deals for several categories such as fashion, beauty, toys and home appliances,

“The Suddenly team are the experts in creating human connection through content for some of Australia’s biggest retailers,” Mike Connaghan, News Corp’s managing director for commercial content, said.

“That experience makes Suddenly the natural content creation partners for this very special edition of mX for Myer, bringing back an icon of the publishing world for one of Australia’s most iconic retailers this Black Friday.”

Jessica Gilby, national head of retail and digital growth at News Corp Australia said Black Friday is the “biggest shopping period of the year”, and consumers are “looking for guidance” on how to “find the best deals and value for money”.

“This special issue of mX takes the stress out of Black Friday and Cyber Monday for commuters by highlighting the best deals so they can be confident in their purchase decisions,” she said.

It’s the second time this year mX has been brought back, with a special edition released in Melbourne for two days in a collaboration between News Corp and the city’s RISING festival.

First published in 2001, the afternoon newspaper was a staple of public transport journeys until 2015, when News Corp ceased publication.
