Nick Bell
Melbournian Nick Bell is a serial entrepreneur. He has turned $300 in start-up capital into $300 million and has been listed on the Australian Financial Review Young Rich List for five years straight. He’s established or helped set up more than a dozen companies, including a digital advertising agency that he sold for $39 million in 2017. It was a deal that put him on the Young Rich List with wealth last valued at $274 million. He’s grown that wealth considerably since then.
Nick also has a philanthropic goal linked to farming, whose origins can be traced to his childhood growing up in rural Victoria. He is currently buying hundreds of acres of Victorian farmland so that he can open an animal sanctuary within the next couple of years.
Recent investments range from AI products and services to Longevity tech – he seriously intends to live an active life to 150 years old (and is spending millions on this personal project). Nick also dabbles (successfully!) in digital marketing and a casino.
If he likes it, he’ll throw himself into it.
His career went from selling school lunches as a kid to selling search marketing services in his twenties and now his wide-ranging global suite of business interests include companies in Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Panama and Vietnam.
Money sticks to him.
Today, he’s the Managing Director of the 2000-person strong digital agency group Superist and the man behind WME Group, First Page, Mooning, Primal, Appscore, and Removify – to name a few.
Nick Bell - “I don’t buy things. I’m not posting pictures of fast cars on Instagram. I just enjoy the process of building a business. My wife often tells me to get a hobby. I tell her that I don’t need one; this is my hobby. I used to be into football, cricket and golf but I’m not these days. I just really enjoy building businesses.”
TV Audiences will remember Nick Bell from his role as a judge on Celebrity Apprentice, as well as the recent series Do You Want To Live Forever? where Nick documented his controversial gene therapy journey, in the quest for longevity.
