Why The Quokka Needs Your Help

Known as the happiest animal in the world, the Quokka's smiling face and curious nature have made them famously Instragrammable. These smiling sweethearts are vulnerable, but you can help keep the Quokka happy and healthy!

The pride and joy of Western Australia, Quokkas are about the size of a cat and always have a smile on their face. Just don't get too close! They could still bite you big time.

Quokkas hop and bob around on the ground of Rottnest Island but can also climb and chill out in trees at heights of up to two metres.

They're nocturnal, live to about 10 years, and can survive off fat stores in their chubby tails if food supplies are low.

They can also swallow food whole, regurgitate it, and eat it again, which is both gross and extremely cool at the same time.

The Rottnest Foundation supports ongoing conservation projects that protect and preserve the Quokka's habitat.

By donating to the Quokka, you're helping The Rottnest Foundation support ongoing research into their health and habitat, as well as ongoing monitoring programs.

You can support The Rottnest Foundation's work and help crown the Quokka the 2024 Marsupial of the Year by donating at https://www.marsupialoftheyear.com.au/
