Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan posted the video to her Instagram, asking followers if their little moggy hadn’t returned home.
“Yesterday morning at 6:05 am, an unexpected passenger took the City Loop train from St Albans Station,” Premier Allan wrote.
“They didn’t have a Myki to touch on or off, but some kind passengers took care of them all the way to Flinders Street.”
“So, if you’re missing a well-behaved ginger cat who loves the train, please get in touch,” she wrote.

A resident took to Facebook and shared on the Brimbank Community page that they had handed in the kitty to Flinders Street Station staff.
A Metro Trains Melbourne spokesperson confirmed to The Guardian Australia that the cat had been cared for by passengers before they handed him to staff.
Another commenter claimed to work at Flinders Street Station and said that the cat had been dropped off at a local Lost Dogs’ Home.
