Cold Chisel Guitarist Ian Moss Bans Phones From Upcoming National Tour

Aussie rock legend Ian Moss has issued a ban on phone photography and video recording at gigs on his upcoming tour.

The Cold Chisel guitarist and co-vocalist’s team issued a statement ahead of his national tour, Ian Moss + Trio: One Guitar One Night Only, which kicks off in Brisbane tomorrow.

“To ensure the best possible experience for everyone – both the audience and the artists – photography and video recording will not be permitted during the performance,” the social media post read.

“In the past, we’ve taken a relaxed approach, but following feedback about disruptions, we’ve changed our policy. Venue staff have been briefed and will help us enforce this policy. There will be no exceptions.”

“We kindly ask you to respect the performers, fellow concertgoers, and the atmosphere by switching off phones and other devices for the duration of the show. Be present and enjoy the performance with your eyes.”

The statement was met with mixed reviews. While most were in support of the ban, some felt that it took the fun out of attending a concert.

“This is awesome! How it should be! Rock on”, one user wrote.

“The way it used to be, good on ya!” another echoed.

A third felt, “all venues should do this.”

“While I think this is a cool move, I also think people should be able to record a short video of their favourite songs!” another commenter added.
