The South Australian capital, known for its stunning wineries, beaches and low traffic, has Australia’s happiest residents.
Known as the ‘20-minute city’, locals aren’t surprised that Adelaide made the top of the list for Australia.
The Happy City Index ranks cities based on 82 indicators across six categories: governance, environment, economy, mobility, citizen wellbeing and health.
Adelaide placed 29th globally, thanks to its high quality of life, reliable public transport, strong economy, green initiatives and commitment to sustainability.
The report describes it as “a city that seamlessly blends tradition with modernity.”
