Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry Reportedly End Engagement After Nearly A Decade Together

Speculation is mounting that Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry have ended their engagement, with reports suggesting the actor is preparing to attend the wedding of Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez solo.

According to TMZ, Bloom and Perry are "all but over," and the Pirates of the Caribbean star is expected to “make his debut as a single man” during the high-profile event in Venice, Italy. “He’s the life of the party and he’s gonna hit the dance floor hard!” a source told the outlet, adding that Bloom may even “sneak away” with Leonardo DiCaprio for “some bar crawling.”

After years of red carpet appearances, shared milestones, and the birth of their daughter Daisy Dove, it appears the couple may have quietly called off their engagement.

Fans began speculating about trouble in the relationship when reports surfaced that Bloom was less than thrilled with Perry’s recent space flight, which was arranged through her close ties to Bezos and Sánchez. “He told her the whole thing looked ridiculous,” a source told the Daily Mail. “She hoped he'd be more supportive. Of course, she was hurt. Imagine going to space,” the insider continued, “and your partner isn't impressed.”

The same source claimed Katy felt the wedding invitation was extended more for her than for Bloom, and that his attendance had become “difficult for her to accept.”

This wouldn’t be the first time the couple has hit a rough patch. In 2017, they “took a loving, respectful space” before rekindling their relationship and getting engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2019.

Perry will reportedly miss the Bezos-Sánchez wedding due to her Lifetimes tour in Australia. She performed in Perth on June 22 and 23, with another show scheduled in Adelaide on June 26. The tour was first announced in September 2024, with the June 23 and 26 dates added in the following weeks.

Bloom has not been seen supporting Perry on the Australian leg of the tour so far.

Earlier this month, People reported that Perry’s underperforming album 143 had created “tension” in the relationship.

Bloom and Perry first met in January 2016. They briefly broke up in 2017 but reunited in March 2018. They got engaged the following year and welcomed their daughter Daisy in August 2020.

Bloom also shares a 13-year-old son, Flynn, with his ex-wife Miranda Kerr.
