A man posting under the name Boris Bartman shared a tweet to X with a photo of the several pizza boxes and the caption, "CEO got us pizza for Q3 performance. Happy to have helped contribute to his $3 million bonus."
"Never kill yourself, you never know when your hard work might get recognised."
The post has been viewed over 11 million times and attracted thousands of responses from people weighing in on free office lunches.
"Employee appreciation is key to a hard working team. This is the epitome of what a leader does when they don't care about their team but want show appreciation because someone told them it was important," wrote one person, while another said the CEO could have "dished out on something a little upscale."
Others thought the man should be grateful he got any incentive at all, one saying, "You get paid to do a job. You do the job, they pay you. Nobody owes anybody anything else."
