Northland Shopping Centre Evacuated Again After Fire, Just One Day After Car Incident

Northland Shopping Centre in Melbourne was evacuated for the second time in 24 hours this morning, after smoke was spotted inside the building.

Emergency services were called to the centre around 10:30 am on Thursday, with shoppers told to leave immediately. Fire Rescue Victoria confirmed the source of the smoke was an electrical light. Paramedics also attended the scene as a precaution.

The scare comes just a day after a white Toyota Land Cruiser ploughed through the centre at high speed, forcing terrified shoppers to flee.

It marks the third major incident at Northland in just a month, following a violent machete altercation involving ten people that sent the centre into lockdown.
