Nando's Turns Up The Heat With First Aussie Drive-Thru

Nando's has just fired up its very first drive-thru in Australia, and we're already drooling at the thought of that peri-peri goodness wafting through our cars.

Nando's first-ever Aussie location opened yesterday in Roxburgh Park, Victoria. The move comes as the flame-grilled favourite looks to keep up with changing consumer habits, and yes, make it even easier to get your peri-peri fix without leaving the car.

According to QSR, drive-thru spots are big business, now accounting for around 60–70 per cent of revenue for quick-service restaurants.

Nando's Australia and New Zealand CEO Amanda Banfield called it a major milestone:

"We've been part of the Aussie restaurant scene for 35 years, and this is another big step in how Nando's is evolving."

She added that the brand has ambitious plans, with 25 more restaurants on the way across Australia and New Zealand in the next three years, creating 1,000 new jobs, and aiming to open 70 new stores by 2030, with drive-thrus playing a key role in that spicy expansion.

To celebrate the Roxburgh Park launch, lucky customers were served up a free quarter of chicken and chips because nothing says welcome like flame-grilled chicken on the house.
