Car Ploughs Through Northland Shopping Centre, Forcing Lockdown

Northland Shopping Centre in Melbourne was sent into lockdown this afternoon after a white SUV tore through the complex at high speed, sparking panic among shoppers.

The chaos unfolded just after 4 pm, with witnesses flooding 3AW Drive’s Jacqui Felgate with calls describing the terrifying scene.

“All I could hear were people screaming,” Neary Ty told Felgate.

“I looked up and saw a white SUV speeding through the centre, it was so scary.”

Emergency services, including Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria, quickly descended on the Murray Road shopping centre.

This latest incident comes less than a month after a violent machete brawl inside the same complex also triggered a lockdown.
