Cork native Imelda Collins is raffling off her traditional cottage on the west coast of the Republic of Ireland.
The stunning cottage sits on 1.75 acres of land in County Leitrim, about a 15-minute drive from Sligo.
The house was completely renovated and redecorated in 2022, and boasts a large living and dining area, kitchen, bathroom and two double bedrooms. It has ample storage space, a shelved hot press, attic storage and a large hall cupboard.
The new owner will also enjoy sunshine from sunrise to sunset as the property is south-facing. It also has a large patio area so you can enjoy beautiful countryside views.
The house will come fully furnished, with contents included, and legal fees and stamp duty will also be paid.
Imelda decided to raffle off her cottage after seeing other successful raffles online and thought it would be nice to give someone the opportunity to own their own home.
"I had read about a number of homeowners who decided to raffle their homes, as an alternative to selling them in the traditional way,” she told the Irish Independent.
Due to the housing crisis, I thought it fitting to give people the opportunity to win my home for only £5, approximately €6 - the price of a sandwich, or a pint of beer,” said Imelda.
Imelda is planning to use the money to move back to Italy and live with her husband.
Imelda will be living at the property until the time comes to hand over the keys to the lucky winner.
"Everything in this room is inspired by nature; the wallpaper, designer light fittings, custom-made curtains and wall décor. I wanted to create a space where I felt immersed in nature and colour, and I achieved that in this beautiful room.
"I have an immense love of nature and the countryside. I love spending time relaxing on the patio, where I can enjoy the sounds of nature and amazing views.
"One of my favourite experiences on the patio is a free concert given by the sheep and the birds,” said Imelda.
In order for the raffle to go ahead, at least 150,000 tickets need to be sold.
“The prize is my stunning home on 1.75 acres. If my home is given as the prize, I will pay the winner's legal fees and stamp duty. I will also make a generous donation to the ISPCA, a charity very close to my heart.
“If less than 150,000 tickets are sold, the winner will receive a cash prize amounting to 50% of the total ticket revenue generated for this competition. Raffall will receive 10%.
"I will receive the remaining balance once Affiliate Commissions have been deducted and paid by Raffall.
“Once the raffle ends, my share of the ticket revenue will cover advertising and marketing costs for promoting the raffle, with any remaining amount subject to tax,” said Imelda.
