The retailer has launched a new series of Christmas commercials starring male model Brent Bailer as a hunky Kris Kringle, also known as Target employee Kris K.
Kris K rocks the iconic Santa beard but trades in the festive red suit for a form-fitting sweater and khaki pants.
The first of nine planned holiday commercials debuted last week, introducing Kris K driving a red Ford Bronco with a ‘sleigh’ license plate and arriving at a Target store while ‘Born to Be Wild’ by Steppenwolf plays.
In the caption for the commercial, titled ‘Born to Be Kris’, Target introduced viewers to the new sexy Santa.
“Meet Kris, our newest Target Team Member. He loves the holidays as much as the next guy. Actually, way more than the next guy. Actually, way more than anyone we know. Actually, more than anyone anyone knows. But hey, that’s not important. What is, is that shiny red Bronco and perfectly coiffed beard,” the caption reads.
“So, does his last name rhyme with jingle, you ask? HR won’t let us say. But what we can say is we’re so excited to welcome him to the team this season.”
A second ad has a customer describing Kris as a “weirdly hot” Santa, while another has the steamy Saint Nick doing bicep curls with a Christmas tree.
