According to Tinder’s Help Center, Premium Discovery allows users to adjust their search preferences and tailor who they see in the app’s Discovery section, where profiles are surfaced for swiping.
But there’s a catch, the height filter is only available to subscribers of Tinder Platinum, the app’s highest-tier subscription, which starts at $39.99 per month.
“This is part of a broader effort to help people connect more intentionally on Tinder,” a spokesperson told Mashable. “We’re always listening to what matters most to our users—and testing the paid height preference is a great example of how we’re building with urgency, clarity, and focus.”
Still, not everyone is thrilled about the new feature, sparking mixed reactions online under a viral post on X.
“Imagine if they had a weight filter,” one user wrote. “Or a race filter… can you imagine the outrage?” another chimed in. One woman added, “Doesn’t matter—most people will probably lie about their height anyway.” And another commented: “Ppl getting huffy about the new height filter on Tinder… how about y’all stop lying about your height??”
