Tense F1 Radio Messages Between Lewis Hamilton And Race Engineer Revealed

Lewis Hamilton raced with Ferrari for the first time at the Australian Grand Prix, but he also got a backseat driver with his new team, and the radio messages are wild.

The seven-time world champion finished 10th at what was a very wet Australian Grand Prix.

Hamilton struggled in the SF-25, resulting in some heated radio conversations with race engineer Riccardo Adami.

At the beginning of the race, Hamilton was struggling with the car.

Hamilton: "Struggling with drivability, the car is snappy."

Adami: "You can use K1 when you're close."

Hamilton: "Leave me to it, please."

Adami: "K1 available."

Hamilton: "Yes I know, leave me to it please."

And again, later in the race when DRS was enabled, once the rain had stopped and the circuit started to dry.

Adami: "To avoid denying DRS, we suggest upshift and then DRS."

Hamilton: "Please leave it. Yes, please leave it. Learning my car as we go, mate. Just leave me to it with the DRS, it's not an issue."

On Lap 44, a sudden heavy rain shower caused chaos, but Hamilton opted against ditching slick tyres for intermediates after being informed that the rain would not be heavy.

Hamilton: "Thought you said it wasn't going to rain much? Missed a big opportunity there."

Adami: "Understood."
