‘School Of Rock’ Child Stars Marry Decades After Meeting On Set

Two child stars who played classmates in the hit film ‘School Of Rock’, have tied the knot two decades after meeting on set.

The 2003 film followed Jack Black’s character, Dewey, a pretend substitute teacher who makes a rock band out of his class of students.

Child stars Caitlin Hale and Angelo Massagli were two of those students, playing Marta ‘Blondie’ and Frankie ‘Tough Guy’ respectively in the noughties classic.

They were just 10 years old when they met, and on Saturday, the pair tied the knot in New Jersey, where their wedding guests included nine of their castmates.

Speaking with the New York Times, Massagli recalls being awe-struck after seeing Hale’s audition for the film.

“I was like, ‘Wow, that girl’s really, really, really something else,’” Massagli said.

After production wrapped, the cast of kids remained in touch through a long-running group chat, but it wasn’t until 2018 that the pair reconnected after both ended up studying in Florida.

“But we just kept grabbing dinners and going out for the weekends. We were like, ‘something’s brewing here,” Masagli said of that time.

Hale says that she “knew very early” that Masagli was the one.

“I actually said to one of my close friends, I remember being in an Uber on the way down to Miami one weekend, and we were going out, and I was like, ‘I think I’m gonna marry this guy.’”

The couple moved to Brooklyn in 2019 and got engaged in June 2023 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The child stars both left acting behind. Masagli now works as a music product counsel for TikTok, and Hale is an OB-GYN sonographer.
