Pop Mart Pause Labubu Sales In All UK Stores Amid Allegations Of Violence

Pop Mart has paused the sale of ‘The Monsters’ plush toys in UK stores temporarily amid allegations of violence from scalpers in the queues that have Labubu lovers waiting for hours.

Pop Mart released a statement on their social media accounts: “All Pop Mart UK Stores & Robo Shops will pause the sale of The Monsters plush toys until further notice.”

“Due to the increasing demand for our beloved Labubus, we’ve seen a significant rise in customer turnout on restock days — with long queues forming outside our stores and Roboshops,” the caption read.

“To ensure everyone's safety and comfort, we will temporarily pause all in-store and roboshop sales of THE MONSTERS plush toys until further notice.

“Please stay tuned to our social media and Discord for updates on upcoming releases.

“Online drops will continue as usual, so keep an eye out for our announcement posts to know when the next one is happening,” the post continued.

“We’re working hard behind the scenes to improve the shopping experience both in-store and online. Thank you for your continued support, patience, and understanding.”

UK customers complained about how difficult it has been to get their hands on the highly sought-after plush keyrings, online and in-store.

There have been reports that some customers have queued up from 1 am, waiting up to 9 hours to get their hands on the elusive collectibles.

Some social media users have also claimed that a group of “at least 20 to 30” men had been intimidating customers waiting in lines across UK stores. There are allegations that the men are part of a scalping ring.

Commenters said these same men would immediately start reselling the Labubus outside the store.

Angry social media users have been pleading with Pop Mart to stop selling all of their stock to resellers. Many are calling for changes to how the store restocks and sells The Monsters plush toys to keep customers and staff safe.

Pop Mart has not commented on the alleged instances of violence.
