Last week, the City of Bend took to social media with images of the odd vandalism and a request for residents to treat the pieces with greater respect.

“While the googly eyes placed on the various art pieces around town might give you a chuckle, it costs money to remove them with care to not damage the art,” the City of Bend said in an Instagram post.

Eight sculptures have reportedly fallen victim to the googly eyes over the past few months, with officials claiming they have spent a whopping $1,500 removing the vandalism.
